The Tutorial Case will guide you through the basic principles of game play. To access the tutorial, start a new game. While in your office, click on your map. In the lower left hand corner you'll see three icons, one to return to the office, one to return to the main menu and one to launch the tutorial case.
Overall Strategy Hints:
* After you select a tool, be sure to move the cursor over the patient's body and watch the bodypart popups before using the tool. This is the best way to ensure that you are using the tool in the correct area.
* If you want an ALL GAME perfect score, you will have to play through the training case. There is a secret award for getting a perfect score for the whole game.
* Play through the game on the easy difficulty setting the first time. The easy setting will let you get as many hints as you want without bringing down your score.
* When in treatment, don't forget to ask the vet tech questions. The Q&A session is worth 100 points and gives important information on the case.
* Be sure to read all of the notes in the PDA during a case to help choose the correct diagnosis.
* When using the scalpel, click and drag over the area you want to use it in.
* When asked to take an x-ray of the chest, choose anterior, when asked to take an x-ray of the abdomen, choose posterior.
* If you are unsure of what to do, click on your task list in the upper right hand corner of the screen to check your tasks.
* Enrich your patient fully before attempting to adopt them out, it makes the adoption game much easier.
* The adoption game can only be played if all animals are cleared out of quarantine and your animal has been enriched a little bit. To get to the adoption game, click on the little house icon on the patient's clipboard in the community area.
* When in the enrichment part of the game, click on the PDA in the upper right hand corner of the screen to get help or status information. Try clicking each button the PDA to access different information on your enrichment patient.
* During maintenance and socialization, some activities require the player to just click a button on the menu (feeding), while others attach a tool to the cursor for the player to click and drag on the patient (throwing a toy).
* After you have adopted your patient out, be sure to check your messages on your answering machine which is on the desk in the office.
