Gameplay
Q. On the Mac, the performance is slow after playing for 30-40 minutes.

A. Performance can be improved if the user saves the game, quits, restarts the computer, and starts the game again.

Q. On the Mac, sometimes a white screen appears where the QT movies usually play or sometimes the background of the clipboard disappears.

A. Increasing the system's virtual memory by about 10 MB usually fixes this problem.

Q. When playing in easy mode and the x-ray comes up, I can't select any other tools or tool trays.

A. You must use the x-ray on the appropriate body part before you can select another tool. If you are not sure what body part to apply the x-ray to, use the Hints button on the PDA.

Installation/Uninstallation
Q. I launched the uninstaller but canceled the process before the uninstall began, but now I can't find the desktop shortcut or the program folder from the Start Menu. Did I uninstall the game?

A. The game is still installed on your computer, only the desktop shortcut and program folder from the Start Menu were removed.

To start the game, go to the folder where you installed the game and click on 'VetEmergency.exe'.

Q. Does Vet Emergency work on Mac OS X?

A. : This game may or may not work on Mac OS X, but we do not support it.

Quicktime
Q. How can I tell if I have QuickTime 4 or 5 and what version it is?

A. To determine what version of QuickTime is installed on the computer, use the steps below.

Click Start, Settings, then Control Panel.

In the Control Panel, look for the QuickTime icon. It is very possible there are several QuickTime icons. Look for the icon with the blue "Q". Older version (Pre version 4.0) used a black "Q" on a square, multicolored background. These older versions should co-exist with QuickTime version 4 or 5 without any problems.

Once the QuickTime icon with the blue "Q" has been found, double click it.

Once the QuickTime Settings window appears, click the drop-down box at the top and select About QuickTime.

Once About QuickTime is selected, the version should appear right underneath the drop-down box.

Q. Where can I get the latest version of QuickTime?

A. The latest version of QuickTime for both PC's and Mac's can be found at http://www.quicktime.com. Click on the QuickTime Pro picture at the top. On the next page, about half way down, is the information about downloading the free version.
