Welcome to technical support for Pet Pals: Animal Doctor. Please take the time to read the answers to the frequently asked questions below. These answers may help resolve any issues you may have.
PC
INSTALLING PET PALS ANIMAL DOCTOR:
Insert the PET PALS: ANIMAL DOCTOR disk into your CD-ROM drive. (If the installer does not start on its own, double click on My Computer and then double-click on the PET PALS icon that appears.)
Follow the onscreen instructions.
After the game is installed, install QuickTime™ 6.0 if you do not already have it on your computer. To install QuickTime 6 or upgrade your version, go to www.apple.com/quicktime/ to download the free player. (Note: If you have a version of QuickTime more recent than 6.0, you can skip this step.) To install DirectX™ 7, go to www.microsoft.com/directx. (Note: if you have a more recent version of DirectX, you can skip this step).
To play the game, click on the START button, go to programs, go to Legacy Interactive, go to the Pet Pals Animal Doctor folder and click "Pet Pals Animal Doctor".
STARTING PET PALS ANIMAL DOCTOR:
To play the game, click on the START button, go to programs, go to Legacy Interactive, go to the Pet Pals Animal Doctor folder and click "Pet Pals Animal Doctor".
UNINSTALLING PET PALS ANIMAL DOCTOR:
In Windows, in the Start menu, locate the Legacy Interactive group, select Pet Pals Animal Doctor", and select Uninstall Pet Pals Animal Doctor. Follow the instructions on your screen to uninstall the program.
TECHNICAL SOLUTIONS
Ensure that your computer meets the minimum system requirements:
Windows 98, ME, 2000, or XP
500 MHz Pentium
128 MB RAM
High color/16 bit capable 8 MB video card
Sound card
16x CD-ROM drive
QuickTime 6.0
DirectX 7.0
This information can be obtained by right-clicking on My Computer and selecting Properties.
Windows 2000 and Windows XP Professional users should have Standard or Administrative user access to install the program properly. Vista users must have Administrative user access.
If you experience a blank or black screen upon launching the program, it may be because your computer does not have QuickTime 6 installed. Alternatively, if you chose to play in 'Full Screen' mode, try 'Windowed' mode instead.
Verify that you have QuickTime 6 (or higher) installed. Go to the Start Menu, then Settings (Windows XP users should just go to the Start Menu). Click on 'Control Panel' and then double-click QuickTime (XP users need to switch to 'Classic View' to do this). Choose 'About QuickTime' from the drop-down list.
To install QuickTime 6 or upgrade your version, open the 'QuickTime' folder on the Pet Pals CD-ROM and double click on 'QuickTimeFullInstaller.exe'. Or go to "www.apple.com/quicktime/" to download the free player. You may need to restart your computer before launching the game.
Check to be sure that you have the latest available driver versions for your sound and video cards.
For best results, close any other programs that are running on your computer prior to starting Pet Pals.

INSTALLING PET PALS: ANIMAL DOCTOR
Insert the PET PALS: ANIMAL DOCTOR disk in your CD-ROM drive.
Double-click on the Install PET PALS: ANIMAL DOCTOR icon that appears in the window.
Follow the onscreen instructions.
After the game is installed, install QuickTime 6.0 if you do not already have it on your computer. (Note: If you have a version of QuickTime more recent than 6.0, you can skip this step.)
To play the game, double-click on the PET PALS: ANIMAL DOCTOR icon on your desktop.
STARTING PET PALS: ANIMAL DOCTOR
Go to the "PET PALS: ANIMAL DOCTOR" folder that was installed and double click on "PET PALS: ANIMAL DOCTOR" icon.
UNINSTALLING PET PALS: ANIMAL DOCTOR
Drag the PET PALS: ANIMAL DOCTOR folder to the trash.

If you have OS X 10.3 and you use the Expose' function, the game will turn to a black screen. To avoid a black screen, do not use the Expose' function (the F9, F10, and F11 keys).
