Half of the game is about playing match 3, where you swap jewels around to make matches, and try to clear the board. Doing this earns you various tools which you use in the other part of the game, which is about restoring paintings. Restoring the paintings is the fun part of the game, imo. You have to do things like wipe away stains, remove objects with tweezers, and stitch up rips. The artwork is quirky and different, in a positive way.

If you fail to finish a painting restoration task in time, nothing really happens. You just earn less gold. It's not worth rushing if you don't like pressure. ;)
